The days at Spring Harvest are packed full of a variety of options. You’ll need to look at the digital event programme to see full descriptions for everything. But here are some of the highlights we’d like you to know about. (There will also be a printed programme this year for those who want to buy one, but it will only include the basics and will be costed to cover paper, print and transport.)
There will be a simple act of worship with Communion on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 8am. If you prefer to be more active, you can join a Prayer Walk meeting at the Prayerhouse venue, also at 8am. Of course for the really active, there is also a morning all-age workout or run.
We have a brand new ‘Creative Studio’ open 10am-1pm and 2-5pm. Drop in and explore your creative side with guidance and support from our incredible creative team. Whether you want to paint, build, have a go at illustrations or get crazy with a pair of scissors this is a drop-in space for all the family. We will also be creating a giant sculpture throughout the week and would love you to join in!
The Compassion Experience truck will be at Minehead in 2023 (and don’t worry – it will be heading to Skegness in 2024). It’s an immersive and interactive experience like no other. Make sure you save time to see it. Compassion will also be hosting afternoon sessions that will be super-inspiring on topics such as, ‘How to raise your kids to be intentional about justice’ and ‘Lessons we’ve learned from the global Church’ with team members freshly returned from Uganda.
There are afternoon events with a wide range of appeal from talks to workshops, sports and performances. We’re feeling pretty chuffed by the quality of the content that is lined up.
Kick Academy Training: Could your church/organisation benefit from creating places and spaces for young people to be active and encounter Jesus? KICK have been involved in sports ministry for over 20 years and will be sharing how they reach young people through their sports and dance KICK Academies. KICK are running 3x1hr sessions to take you through the steps of setting up your own KICK Academy; offering training, resources and ongoing support for you and your volunteers.
In Minehead we’ll be joined by Leah McFall, a finalist on The Voice UK. We’ll hear her amazing story and amazing singing voice!
In Skegness we’ll be joined by Terry Waite CBE and hear about his long hostage experience and the hard-won wisdom he gained.
On both resorts we’ll have a visit from Dr Amy Orr-Ewing and her small team of APPologetics experts. 90 minutes to ask all your thorny questions of the people most qualified to answer. No question is off limits!
Come and join us for one big Spring Harvest FEAST. Bring your own picnic (Tuesday in Minehead and Wednesday in Skegness), meet the Big Start team and enjoy live entertainment and a host of fun activities from our partners Care for the Family and Home for Good.
We hope to release the full programme at least two weeks before the start of the event to give you time to browse and familiarise with everything that’s happening. Of course you could ignore it all and just have a holiday by the sea! Pilgrimage is different things to different people. It’s all good.
