It’s the exciting moment we get to announce the winners of The Premier Unbelievable Youth Preaching Prize at Spring Harvest 2024! You might expect us to say this but, genuinely, the standard of applications has been outstanding. Those who watched the entries all commented on what an amazing group of young people sent in their short talks. Their passion, skill and scriptural knowledge reassured us that this generation is full of Kingdom-builders keen to communicate the love of God. The entrants ranged from 12 to 18 years old and came from all over the UK.
We want to say a hearty well done and thank you to the young people for their preparation and willingness to get involved. Rev (Dr) Cris Rogers said, “It’s so hard to choose between a fantastic bunch of young people. They fill me with confidence for the future.”
Skegness Winner: Josh from Coventry, aged 13.
Skegness Runner Up: Jonah from Ipswich, aged 17.
Minehead Winner: Jemimah from Axminster, aged 17.
Minehead Runner Up: Jesse from London, aged 17.
Special mentions are also made of Alice from Caistor (12) and Lydia from Sheffield (14) for their great content and delivery. The other entrants should feel equally pleased with their achievement as they all prepared and delivered excellent and biblical talks.
We hope those in The Gathering on Friday morning will enjoy hearing from Josh (Skegness) and Jemimah (Minehead) on the theme of rising up to our calling in Christ.
Dr Amy Orr-Ewing commented, “I’m so encouraged by these entries, it was really hard to judge! I think the Spring Harvest adults will be deeply encouraged to hear from the winners.”
