For the past four years, Gavin Calver has served as Chair of the Spring Harvest Planning Group, coordinating the preparation and delivery of the theme for our Easter festivals and other events. He has played a central role in both planning and presenting our flagship gatherings. Since his appointment in October 2019 as CEO of the Evangelical Alliance Gavin has begun to recognise the need to give his full attention to this role.
“I felt the Lord remind me that what he has called me to is to build the strongest, the bravest, the kindest EA that is needed as this nation seeks to rebuild itself” he said.
For this reason, Gavin will be stepping down from his role as Chair of the Spring Harvest Planning Group at the end of December. He remains a very close friend and supporter of Spring Harvest and will doubtless be speaking at our in-person and online events in the coming years. Cris Rogers, a member of the Spring Harvest Planning Group for eight years, Rector of All Hallows Bow in Tower Hamlets, London, and Director of Making Disciples, will take on its leadership in the interim whilst long term plans are prayerfully considered.
“Gavin has given himself wholeheartedly to serve Spring Harvest in recent years and we are deeply grateful to him and Anne” said Essential Christian CEO Phil Loose. “Cris has been at the heart of planning the 2021 theme and is exactly the safe but dangerous pair of hands we need to stay on the prophetic edge at this critical time."
